Narrative Preface When I have written narratives in school they have made me feel nervous. I am not the best at writing essays. So whenever an essay comes up in class I freak out. Most of the time they are higher grades, so I always stress out trying to get a good enough grade. I don't really know how to put detail and make a story. I don't think I have written a lot of narratives in my school years. I did write one last semester in my other english class and I guess it was alright. I am not really good at talking about myself. But this semester my first writing assignment was to write a Letter to my Authors-Self. In this letter you can see my relationship with writing. My next assignment was Writing Process Roundtable. This got me into writing a story. A genre I am not really good at doing. It also helped answer the questions about writing. And then we had to write a story using dialogue. When writing Composing an Emotional Scene with Dialogue and Symbolism, I chose a time where my life changed forever. The time when my house caught on fire and I lost almost everything. When doing our last assignment before this, we wrote about Telling Myself a Different Story: A Memoir Counterfactual. In this we wrote about “what ifs”. So what if my i did not shut the door that saved the rest of my house from burning to the ground. You can read more if you click the links. In my Narrative Project I wanted to share the time I realized that I won't have my grandparents forever. It was a wake up call really. They would do anything in their power for my brother and I. And now they are the ones that need help. They have been in and out of the hospital lately and haven't been doing so well. With a little bit of hope and visiting them as much as I can things are turning around and they are doing a lot better then they were before!
